Colorimeter SPECTRA 4000
 SPECTRA 4000 (download
datasheet (128kB)) is a sensor-like color measuring tool based on a
miniature spectrometer. It does not only allow to distinguish between basic
colors, but to measure tiny color differences and profiles, e.g. of plastics and
paintwork.
The device is PC-based and measures in contact to the sample. It
contains a directly mounted measuring head with 45°/ 0° geometry.
SPECTRA 4000 is offered in two versions:
The RS232 version supplied with a PC
cable and a power supply. The instrument automatically detects the COM port.
Thus problems during installation are avoided.
The USB version (under development) can easily be connected
with an USB port of the PC and the measurement can be started immediately - a
real plug and play solution. The device is bus powered.
SPECTRA 4000 will be delivered with color measuring software
"ATX SPECTRA color".
This software calculates the color values and
color differences in different systems. The management of customer specific
references is included.

The device can be applied for manual
quality control as well as for integration in production lines. A version with
direct output of color values as L*a*b* or color differences as dE is available
for such applications.
Special solutions for non-contact measurement and the
involvement into customer specific applications are possible.
